Dissolution of the anthill or Fin
It seems like only a few days have passed since Tuesday's "Grand Opening". The welcoming whirlwind finally turned out to be a cyclone of showers, which I guess only bothered us when moving from theatre to theatre, but after a while spring came to visit us. This festival in Brno offered a plethora of notable international university productions, the opportunity for interesting intellectual development in workshops and discussions with the production teams, and last but not least, entertainment in the clubs.
The closing ceremony of Encounter took place at the Husa na provázku Theatre, and once again featured the festival's thematic heroes - an anthill of organisers and students who made the five days a solid foundation for quality theatre experiences. The original dance performance from Moravské náměstí was transformed into a choral farewell song in the theatre hall. The queen of ants said goodbye in her native tongue and the jury praised the participating theatre companies.
Like an anthill, the theatre community dissolved back into its home colonies. See you next year!
