Familiar Faces in Shades of Purple
The following text consists of the author’s unedited notes from their journey to the CO.LABS venue and from the concerts of bands YI, Panracek and mmnk. The author, me, isn’t trying to say anything with this text, as, for once, they’ve decided to keep their mouth shut. The party ENC: Vertigo was awesome, as the text, if we can call it that, hopefully shows.
[The names have not been changed. Sending my regards:)]
Party
Someone forgot to tell me
I forgot to ask
I remembered my best friend in Groningen
our encounter is being delayed
How I miss her
These people speak weirdly
What beer will there be
I am tormented tired abused
Hope I’m on the guestlist
hope there’s good beer
will mmnk remember?
When I made hotodogo nunchakus for them?
Since they know Alex the best of men
this feels familiar
Yet every time feels like it’s the first
A hangover still lingers in my mouth
in my throat too
The faces still feel familiar
even though I’ve never met a soul
It’s terrifying and I feel awful
Six crushed Gambrinus beer cans in the hotel trash can
what a day what a mood
But Beer and my favourite purple
reminds me of Anežka
or Mája
I’m nervous?
Purple again
I’m on the list, that’s good
YI
The sound guy fcked up (complains the drummer)
typical
sooo typical of them
People are drifting in
filling up
The crazy drummer guy sings too
The bassist looks like every bassist
The guitarist looks a bit like Vladimír Polívka
maybe not, he’s just hot
Or like Neužil
Who’s that pan Racek guy again?
and I’ve read all of Chekhov
I’m good now
beer helped
The sound guy’s funny, sorry
The bassist can sing??!
I’m running low on beer and I feel good
Greendayesque
When was the last time I went to a concert alone
or like there are people here, but who?
Band’s good but but
i gottta get beer
The guitarist maybe just looks like himself, hmm...
They keep tuning the bass and drinking Radegast
ofc
no longer hungover, what a life
sharp ten
I miss my guys, forgot them in Prague
Didn’t expect anything at all and still it’s better
than I expected
One girl, woman
resembles Mája
I’ve seen her before
Women will be the end of me
luckily we’re all in love
Oversharing final boss truly really
Concerts are performative (in a good way)
still haven’t gone to get beer they’re good
kindof a banger
B
Beer
Eleven
Purple
Short straws, huh
Relax and smoke
someone said review
Although it’s not round
it’s round enough
Y’know panracek?
MDP on tour [Editor’s note: MDP are theatres in Prague where the band’s bassist works.]
Dalecký on the bass and another pseudo Timothée from Brno
Funky groovy
panracek is dead
Real good, he whistles good
First mention of meth
Drummer’s on a roll
That’s a lot of people
New songs
and I finally know how I feel
Zuzka told me and she’s right
thank god she’s right
I’ll put a screenshot of my conversation with Zuzka here
Finally it’s properly meta
finally its properly meta
!THANKS!
Jesus Christ is our saviour
Ofc its like amor fati
I know how it goes and that’s me done and dusted
No encore:/
Fckme what a party
So that’s the pan Racek guy
Encore came, lucky me, I stayed
Countrypeople citizens editors

The Boys know how to party
now this is artful art
If the world were to end today
mmnk would survive
thank God for the boys.
ENCOUNTER is not useless!!!!!
it’s not possible to not smile
You laughing? are you laughing?!
i love you you love me
i love you you love me
i love you you love me
Hitchcock has nothing on these guys
The Spiral is pretty much a well-wrinkled line
Time is relative wuapapdapfafppadawwuapdapawwwwu
Luckily, drummers can drum
Luckily, cowbell exists
An artwork so fcking complicated
Moths must now be kremated [Editor’s note: the first letters create the band’s name]
This a revolt against all fckers
