The programme of the International Festival of Theatre Schools AETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER is rich and varied. Apart from the main programme, consisting of productions by foreign schools, we can also expect off-programme performances by students of the JAMU Theatre Faculty, as well as parties. What exactly the programme offers is available on social media and on the website. A printed programme will also be available at the festival Infocentre during the festival. But where to go when you get a moment to spare? Brno is a students’ city with lots of businesses, but also galleries, museums, and monuments. Here are some more tips on where to spend your time outside the theatres and our festival:
Program Mezinárodního festivalu divadelních škol SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER je bohatý. Mimo hlavní program tvořený inscenacemi zahraničních škol nás čekají také Off-programová představení studentů Divadelní fakulty JAMU, ale také party. Co přesně program nabízí je dostupné na sociálních sítích a na webových stránkách. Během festivalu bude také k dispozici tištěný program na festivalovém Infocentru. Kam se ale podívat, když se naskytne chvíle volna? Brno je studentským městem se spoustou podniků, ale také galerií, muzeí a památek. The name of the International Festival of Theatre Schools SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER doesn't include the word international for nothing, so this article will explain how students from foreign schools become part of the festival. Specifically, I am referring to the process of selecting from among the schools which apply and our methods of communication with them. The productions that each school brings to Brno for the main programme of our festival, and we are looking forward to seeing them. But now let's take a look at the work behind all the performances to make sure they come off without any major complications. We can look at the whole process from three sides: production, technical, and artistic.
The Artistic Section is an integral part of the organizing team of the International Festival of Theatre Schools SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER. Sometimes it may seem that this section stands a little apart from the epicentre of the preparations, but the opposite is true. We owe the creation of the artistic side of the festival to this section, made up of students of directing and dramaturgy, scenography, ATD (audiovisual media and theatre), and RTDS (radio and tv dramaturgy and scriptwriting). The duties of this section are wide-ranging - from selecting productions, to preparing the opening and closing ceremonies, photographing and filming, creating TV spot and radio spot, and decorating the school. But there is much more to these efforts, and there are hours of work and preparation behind them. And who would be better able to describe the work of the section at the festival than the representatives of the above-mentioned disciplines who work with us at the festival?
The 34th edition of The International Festival of Theatre Schools SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER 2024 will take place in Brno on 16-20 April. You can look forward to the unique artistic achievements of students from theatre schools around the world. But not only that – we have prepared an accompanying programme of interactive workshops, passionate discussions, and the informal atmosphere of The Off-Programme packed with bands, DJs, and parties.
V názvu Mezinárodního festivalu divadelních škol SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER není slovo mezinárodní jen tak pro nic za nic, a proto si prostřednictvím tohoto článku představíme, jak se k nám studenti ze zahraničních škol dostávají. Konkrétně tím mám na mysli proces výběru přihlášených škol a způsob komunikace. Inscenace, se kterými jednotlivé školy přijedou do Brna, tvoří hlavní program našeho festivalu a my už se na ně moc těšíme. Ale pojďme se teď podívat, jaká práce se skrývá za tím, aby všechna představení proběhla bez větších komplikací. Na celý proces můžeme nahlížet rovnou ze tří stran: z produkční, technické a umělecké.
V Brně se již 16.-20. dubna uskuteční 34. ročník Mezinárodního festivalu divadelních škol SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER. Můžete se těšit na jedinečné umělecké počiny studentů z divadelních škol celého světa. Ale nejen to – čeká nás i doprovodný program v podobě interaktivních workshopů, vášnivých diskusí a neformální atmosféra Off-programu nabitého kapelami, DJi a večírky.
Neoddělitelnou součástí organizačního týmu Mezinárodního festivalu divadelních škol SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER je Umělecká sekce. Někdy se může zdát, že tato sekce stojí trochu stranou od epicentra příprav, ale opak je pravdou. Sekci složené ze studentů oborů režie a dramaturgie, scénografie, ATD (audiovizuální tvorba a divadlo) a RTDS (rozhlasová a televizní dramaturgie a scenáristika) vděčíme za tvorbu umělecké stránky festivalu. Náplň práce této sekce je široká – od výběru inscenací, přes přípravy zahajovacího a závěrečného ceremoniálu, focení a natáčení, tvorby TV spotu a rozhlasového spotu, po výzdobu školy. Těchto výstupů je ale daleko více a stojí za nimi hodiny práce a příprav. A kdo by byl lépe schopen popsat práci sekce na festivalu nežli zástupci výše zmíněných oborů, kteří s námi na festivalu pracují.
